Rain and Hail is looking for professionals with a bachelor’s degree and agricultural experience to join our Insurance Specialist Development Program. This is a permanent, full-time position and a an exciting opportunity to join a growing, financially stable and successful company with a competitive salary and benefits package. The goal of the Insurance Specialist Development Program is to enhance the skills and knowledge of program participants, enabling them to provide immediate impact in the areas of marketing or claims upon completion of the program. The program brings individuals to the company’s corporate office in Johnston, Iowa, from July to December of each year for structured development. During these six months, the Insurance Specialists spend ample time with Rain and Hail’s senior staff, learning the business from every aspect. The program encompasses a 360 degree tour of our lines of business, including hands-on projects in a variety of disciplines, interactive classroom instruction, team assignments and direct interaction with our senior executives.
You, along with your program peers, form a unique community of achievers, who we believe will become the future leaders of Rain and Hail.
Program Opportunities
- Claims: weeks of claims travel all over the country, learning how claims and different claims positions work on various crops
- Marketing: two weeks of riding with Marketing Representatives, learning the ins and outs of the marketing side of Rain and Hail
- Training: extensive training on lines of business, software/IT systems, claims, marketing, processing, underwriting and more
- Senior Executives: weekly meetings with high-level senior executives
- Projects: individual projects as well as projects with the other Insurance Specialists as a team to put to use new knowledge about various products, technology and Rain and Hail departments
