RE: Northwest Division
I would like to inform you that effective with the 2004 crop year we will be consolidating the Pacific and Montana Divisions into the Northwest Division. This merger will create one management structure for the new Northwest Division, which will streamline Rain and Hail’s internal administrative functions. This merger has been in the works for over a year and both offices were informed of this plan last week.
The Northwest Division will be headquartered in Spokane with Steve Wedel as Manager. Jay Conlon will become Assistant Manager in the Great Falls service office with marketing responsibilities throughout the new division. Both the Spokane and Great Falls offices will remain open with no staff reductions currently planned in either office, which will allow for additional future growth.
These two offices have always worked closely with each other and share many of the same types of crops. Their combined 2002 market shares are 33% of MPCI and 43% of crop-hail. Both divisions have worked hard in getting their agents trained and comfortable with the ERA process. The Montana Division has 37% of their 2003 policyholders and 45% of their premium processed through ERA’s. The Pacific Division has 47% of their policyholders and 62% of their premium booked through the same process. Both divisions have been active in helping other divisions with processing and that will continue under the new structure.
I would like to thank the management and staff of both divisions for their positive attitude and commitment to do what it takes to make this new division one of Rain and Hail’s finest. The accomplishments these two offices have had in the past makes the future of the new Northwest Division look extremely bright and profitable.
Sincerely,
Steve Harms
President
